Songs

Sovereign Grace Music – O Come, All You Unfaithful
Is it too early for Christmas carols? ‘O Come, All You Unfaithful’ is a modern rendition of an old carol, and shares how Christmas is good news for those who are unfaithful, grieving or feeling depleted. It’s been on repeat for me!

Kings Kaleidoscope feat. Propaganda – W.D.Y.K.A.G
A new single addressing systematic injustice, unchecked privilege and the “Jesus” made of straw. The perfect blend of modern rock and rap…goosebumps!

LANY – I still talk to Jesus
Not your typical hymn, but I appreciated the honesty and humility in these lyrics: “You might not believe it, but I still talk to Jesus.” LANY’s performance is raw and heart-felt, you’ll believe every word. Also on Spotify

Infinity Song – How Deep Is Your Love (Beegees Cover)
A stunning and soulful cover of one of my favourite old school bangers! 😉

Emu Music – Creation Awaits Album
New album released in October 2020 and featuring one of my favourite songs ‘Hymn of a Saviour’

Justin Bieber feat. Chance the Rapper – Holy
Let’s be honest, Bieber’s latest is on repeat in the Tai house.

Enter Worship – Teach Me
I’m enjoying this new song by Australian band, Enter Worship.

Books

I’m a big fan of memoirs, especially ones which share God’s redemptive work in the lives of unbelievers. No testimony is the same, so memoirs help me to celebrate the varying ways in which God is revealing Himself to different people across the globe.

Here are 3 that I recommend from my bookshelf:

Gay Girl, Good God – Jackie Hill Perry
Jackie Hill Perry shares how God broke into her life and transformed her values and desires with the gospel. Her book addresses her struggle with same-sex attraction, sexual sin, and gender confusion. Each page brims with theological truth, poetry and witty one-liners which work together to point readers to the love and forgiveness of Christ!

Metanoia – Anna McGahan
Australian actress Anna McGahan shares how she wrestled for ownership over her femininity, sexuality and physicality. As a poster girl for sexual liberation, Anna shares how she spiralled into chaos and isolation, up until she met Jesus and experienced redemption and healing.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus – Nabeel Qureshi
Nabeel Qureshi, was once a proud Muslim apologist, and yet during his studies, he found himself surrounded by Christian friends. In his search for Allah and the truth behind his family’s faith, he discovered Jesus and converted to Christianity. Nabeel and I are worlds apart in personality and IQ (he’s definitely smarter), and yet his story opened my eyes to the power of God’s word while equipping me in Christian apologetics.
