Hey Mum, Be Still

Hey Mum,
miss you
I never thought lines
could grow on your face
but I’m learning now
even heroes need grace.

Hey Mum,
love you
you’ve always been
brave but kind
I’m now big enough to wear your cape
but unable to slow down time.

So much I didn’t know
so much I haven’t said
you taught me how to love,
to face the
dragons in my head.

So Mum,
be still
for once, let me see your tears
let me chase away your monsters,
and hug away your fears.

Happy Mother’s Day.

What is one thing you have learned about your mum with age? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let me know in the comments below. 👇
